Something that Elder Bednar told us was that the older we get on our missions, the more we should realize that we have absolutely no clue what we are doing. And I think he is definitely right! It has been a good week but also a little frustrating and I'm realizing more and more how important it is to rely on the Lord, because I feel clueless! We have had the opportunity to start teaching an investigator, Ulrike, who has been previously taught by the Elders. We are kind of sharing her now! It has just been a really fun experience to get to know her and her husband (a new member). They have a lot of stuffed animals and we have been given the assignment to take one of them home for the next three weeks...These stuffed animals are like their kids. Needless to say, we will be taking good care of him and also taking lots of pictures with him. There are so many interesting experiences on a mission!
We finally made contact with Richmond again! He had been in Dortmund for the week. He told us that he has read a lot of chapters in the Book of Mormon and that he has questions for us. We will be meeting as soon as possible when he comes back to Düsseldorf! We were really glad to hear that he had been reading.
We also visited Marcia and the Elders came and gave her a blessing for some health problems she has been facing. It made me so grateful for the Priesthood. She really felt the Spirit and expressed a physical difference already. She is very hesititant to get baptized though! We pray that she will stop making excuses and feel ready to make that step.
We had interviews with President on Wednesday. It was really nice to be able to talk with him and just hear some encouragement! It was also fun because Sister Parker and Sister Haywood ended up having to sleep over. So Sister Parker and I celebrated our 9 month mark together!
After interviews with President, we decided to go by a less active who seems to be avoiding us. She wasn't home but we talked with her son and then headed home. I felt like I wanted to talk to someone but I had no idea who after we got out of the strassenbahn. So I just started talking to this African lady walking next to us and ended up getting her information so that we could visit her and teach her more! And then I saw a lady in a red coat and decided to talk to her too. She seems SO prepared! She told us about a bunch of religious books she is reading and gladly took a Book of Mormon. We will hopefully be meeting with her tomorrow:)
Last Monday we met a sweet girl named Caroline in the strassenbahn. She wanted to speak English with us and I explained that we would like to meet with her to share a message about Christ. We met with her on Saturday at the church and at first I'm pretty sure she thought we were just meeting to have fun and be friends, so we made sure to explain our purpose very clearly! She said she quit believing in God after her mom died, but that she would like to believe in Him. She said she wants to learn more and will happily read in the Book of Mormon. I am so happy that we met her and now have the chance to help her find her faith.
I think we are going to a castle today with the Elders, so hopefully I will have some good pictures for you next week. I CAN'T WAIT TO SKYPE YOU. I love you!
