It's really nice on one hand, but it's sure I making it a lot harder to know this is what I'm leaving when I leave the mission! This is awful!
-we got to start teaching a super nice lady from Lithuania. She even let us visit twice last week! And the best part is that she said her first un memorized prayer in the second appointment :)
-we had an awesome zone training with Frankfurt! Sister Edmunds, also known as the Food Nanny, cooked us lunch and acted as our guest star. The assistants also did a hilarious 5 minute "commercial" to hit all the things included in our daily planners. I got to bear my second leaver's testimony and that was bitter sweet. I simply love hearing testimony and I've learned so much here!
-I got to split with sister bates in Mainz and we sure did a lot of finding! Like the whole time haha. Even in the pouring rain:) I haven't walked that much in a long time! But we found some potentials. We asked people what brings them hope and one woman said she didn't know but that she was searching. I'm so grateful for inspired questions!
-Christopher is doing so great! He came to the baptism with his mom and sister (that's like 2 miracles right there), he reads the Book of Mormon, prays, and had his baptismal interview. He is just ready to
go! We are so happy for him and are looking forward to his baptism on Thursday.
-Christopher's little sister is now interested in the gospel:)
-Then I got to split with Sister Montgomery. I loved our split! Basically everything under the sun fell out and we got lost and the buses got all messed up. But we spread the gospel on all those buses.
-we got to go to a wedding with the assistants Friday morning! The couple is from our ward and he met the church through his girlfriend who was less active. They got sealed on Saturday and we got to go to their civil wedding:)
-friedrichsdorf zone training was also great!
-almost all the missionaries walked together after the meeting to get Chinese for lunch and on the way there we all contacted every person we saw. We probably looked intimidating haha. But it was so fun to look around and see everyone just bearing testimony and inviting.
-we met with an investigator who has been investigating for a while. Sister Godwin and I decided we would ask her to be baptized again and we were absolutely terrified. Seriously scared! But we planned so much and really tried to have the spirit with us and it ended up going so so well! She wants to be baptized. There are just a few technical things with the Catholic Church standing in the way. We are praying that God will open some doors because she wants this and we want it for her!
-I learned how to play Settlers of Catan with Christopher and his family. It was so fun
-so many people came to church yesterday! It was ward conference and the teacher taught the perfect class for our investigators. Paul is also home! We are excited about that. I got to play the piano for the choir and it went well. Our cute Chinese investigator also came and just smiled the whole time.
I had an awesome experience yesterday. We went to an Internet laden so that Tsetsa could skype the Bulgarian elders. We normally stay there and watch and talk with the elders and her before and after. But I just had the feeling that we needed to go out and talk with people. Then we realized we only had two pass along cards, but we did it anyways. We spoke with a few people who had no interest and we just kept kind of walking around. And then I saw a mom and her daughter and I asked them if they believed in God. The mom got pretty upset and said absolutely not since her kids got taken away from her and she started walking away. And I don't even know why I said this, but I said we believe that everything that is good comes from God and everything that isn't good, doesn't come from Him. And she stopped and turned around and just looked at me and I quickly pulled out a Book of Mormon and asked if I could just share it with her. Then I told her families can be together forever and her demeanor completely changed. She listened and said we should visit her and happily took the Book of Mormon. I basically cried after that happened because I just love missionary work and I'm dying because I go home so soon haha. But I was just so incredibly grateful for Heavenly Father and the promptings of the spirit. It would have been so easy to stay in the Internet laden but we didn't and that street was exactly where we needed to be!
-I also found my planner yesterday after losing it
-and sister Godwin got a call today that they found her passport and
visa that she had lost earlier in the week. Thank goodness!
I love this work and I know that God is with us:)
Love, sister funk
